Ord 5 Annexing 0.183 square mile tract land in Denton CountyORDINANCE NO. 5 AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHALL BECOME A PART OF SAID.TOWN AND THAT THE OWNERS AND INHABITANTS THEREOF SHALL.BE ENTITLED TO ALL THE PRIVILEGES OF OTHER.CITIZENS OF SAID TOWN, AND BE BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NOW IN EFFECT AND TO BE HEREINAFTER ADOPTED: FURTHER PROVIDING FOR AMENDING AND CORRECTING THE. OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID TOWN AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED.AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Acts of 19J3, 53rd Legislature, Page 357, Chapter 93, codified as Article 974-G, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, J. Glenn Turner and wife, Sue Reeder Turner, and F. Wright, owners of the real property herein- after described having made application as by law provided to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake, Texas, requesting annexation of the lands lying with a 0.183 square smile tract, more or less, out of the J. Gibson Survey A-493, J. Bacon Survey A-1565 and the R. Eads Survey A-393, Denton and Tarrant Counties, Texas, and being more fully d@scribed by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the north line of the J. Gibson Survey A-493 and the east line of a County Road leading from Roanoke, said point of beginning being the most northerly northwest corner of the herein described tract; THENCE S 890 24, E with the north line of said Gibson Survey a distance of 231+.72 feet to a point for corner, said point being the northeast corner of the J. Glenn Turner 69 acre tract; THENCE S Oo 291 W with the east line of said Turner tract a distance of 2449.16 feet to a point for corner, said point the southeast corner of the Turner 69 acre tract and In the Denton -Tarrant County Line; THENCE S 890 211 E with the said county line and the north line of the J. Glenn Turner 195.4 acre tract out of the J. Gibson, J. Bacon and R. Eads Surveys a distance of 1480.56 feet to a point for corner, said point being the southwest corner of the J. Glenn Turner 36.53 acre tract out of the R. Eads Survey A-393; TIENCE N 30 451 E with the west line of said 36.53 acre tract a distance of 837.77 feet to a point for corner, said point being in the south line of the T. W. Mitchell 24.8 acre tract; THENCE S 890 40' E with a south line of said 24.8 acre tract a distance of 369.44 feet to a point for corner; THENCE N 00 201 E a distance of 258.33 feet to a point for corner; THENCE S 890 40t E a distance of 1243.89 to a point for corner, said point being in the present Corporate Limits of the Town of Westlake and the west line of a County Road; THENCE S 00 091 E with the said Corporate Limits and the west line of County Road a distance of -894.44 feet to a point for corner, said point being in the north line of the Frank Wright 2 acre tract; THENCE N 890 211 W with the present Corporate Limits and north line of said 2 acre tract a distance of 300 feet to a point for corner; THENCE S 00 09' E with the present Corporate Limits and crossing the Denton -Tarrant County Line at 209.99 feet and continuing on a distance of 345.93 feet to a point for corner, said point being in the south line of the R. Eads Survey A-393; THENCE N 890 211 W with the south of the said Eads Survey to a point for corner, said point being in the east line of the J. Gibson Survey A-493; THENCE S 00 33' E with the east line of said Gibson Survey a distance of 236.94 feet to a point for corner, said point being the southeast corner of the J. Gibson Survey; A plat of said land showing its location with respect to the Town of Westlake., Texas, being attached hereto marked EXHIBIT "A"; and WHEREAS, said petition was filed with the Town of Westlake at 11:00 a.m. on December 28, 1956, which is not less than five (5) and not more than thirty (30) days prior to this date; and WHEREAS, it appearing to the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake, Texas, that all statutory requirements in connection with said proposed annexation have been fulfilled and that the said area duly grouped into one territory is not more than 1/2 mile in width and that all of same is adjacent to the present Town Limits of the Town of Westlake., Texas; BE IT ORDAINED 3Y THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS: 1. THAT, the property hereinabove described being adjacent and contiguous to the Town Limits of Westlake., Texas, be and is hereby annexed and brought within the Corporate Limits of said Town and is hereby made an integral part thereof. 2. THAT, the owners and inhabitants of the area herein annexed 0- be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of other citizens Cs THENCE N 890 211 W with the south line of. -,the said Gibson Survey to a point for corner, said point being the southwest -corner of the J. Glenn Turner 8.2 acre tract; Z -461 E with the west line of said 8.2 acre THENCE N 00 _" iL tract and the J. Glenn Turner 69 acre tract to apoint for corner; THENCE N 890 24, W a distance of 1095-55 feet to a point for corner, said point being in the east line of County Road leaving Roanoke; 7— THENCE N 00 361 E with east line of said County Road < a distance of 11.94 feet to the point of beginning and covering a tract of land containing 0.183 square U) miles. THIS, ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor and duly attested by theTownSecretary. ADOPTED this day of January, A. WM.W INTI A-, 560 ORD 5 PETITION REQUESTING ANNEXATION OF LAND CONTIGUOUS AND ADJACENT TO TIE TOWN OF WESTLAKE, TEXAS To the Honorable Mayor and Members of the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Westlake, Texas. GREETINGS: We, the undersigned, J. Glenn Turner and wife, Sue Reeder Turner, and F. Wright of Denton County, Texas, hereinafter called Petitioners, represent as follows: 1. That they are the Owners of lands lying within a 0.183 square mile tract situated in the J. Gibson Survey A-493, J. Bacon Survey A-1565 and the R. Eads, A-393 Survey, Denton and Tarrant Counties, Texas, fully described 'by metes and bounds as shown in Exhibit "A" attached hereto. A plat of said land showing its location with respect to the boundary of the Town of Westlake, Texas, is attached hereto marked EXHIBIT "B". 2. That, the -land described in EXHIBIT "Alt and "B" hereto attached, is less than one-half mile in width; that less than three qualified voters reside thereon, and is contiguous and adjacent to the Town of Westlake, Texas. 3. Your petitioners agree that if this request for annexa- tion be granted, said land shall become a part of the Town of Westlake, Texas, and the said land and any future inhabitants thereof shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of other citizens of the T ' own of Westlake, and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of said Town, now in effect and as hereafter enacted.
