10th Grade Personal Projects
These went very well and there were some great efforts.

We had visitors from other schools who found the experience very helpful and were
impressed with the work out students had done.
Graduation Date
The Marriott Solana have confirmed Sunday 23rd May 2010 as the date for the first
graduation.
Book Fair
'Reading Together Week' carried on its traditional celebration of books and creative
expression through story. The on-site book fair and a visit from storyteller Tom
McDermott were highlights of the week. As students read books from now until the end
of the school year, they can add a section to the growing reading caterpillar, a school-
wide reading log that is winding its way around the library windows.
Arts & Science Center
Now has a large part of its roof!

State Journalism Awards. °
Last year we won 47 awards, this year our students won 55, of which 13 were first-place
prizes. They also won 17 second-places, 21 third-places and 4 honorable mentions. We
competed in both the high school and junior high categories. Out of a total of 56
categories, we had finalists in more than half.
Sports
The JH softball team finished second in the CSAF regional tournament.
The JH baseball team was the 2009 district champions and finished second in the CSAF
regional tournament.
The varsity baseball team did not qualify for any of the league's tournaments. They
finished with 3 wins and 8 loses for their season. A great first season though.
The varsity softball team made it to play offs but this had to withdraw because of the
Swine flu threat as the game was out of nearby districts.
Varsity Golf- Kent Bordelon finished 7th in the state and 5th in district. Tyler Tews
finished 4th in district. Nicole Stevens finished 4th in district.
JH Boys Golf- the team finished 3rd in district and in the regional tournament.
Varsity Tennis- Joelle Jung won 1 st place at the varsity state championships while
Patrick Watson came in 3rd place. At district level, Olivia Flowers finished 3rd in
singles, and Khalil Pillai and Alex Stack finished 3rd in doubles.
